FIFA pays Dutch clubs 6 million for World Cup in Qatar, Ajax big earner | Football

FIFA has made a payment of a total of 187 million euros to clubs that gave up players during the World Cup in Qatar. The Dutch clubs received a total compensation of 6 million euros. Ajax is the biggest earner with 3.1 million euros.

Ajax gave up eleven players. In addition to Orange internationals Remko Pasveer, Daley Blind, Jurriën Timber, Kenneth Taylor, Davy Klaassen, Steven Berghuis and Steven Bergwijn, the Mexicans Edson Álvarez and Jorge Sánchez, the Serbian Dusan Tadic and the Ghanaian Mohammed Kudus were also active at the World Cup.

Ajax is the only Dutch club to receive millions of dollars. PSV follows in second place with an amount of 930,638 euros. Feyenoord has to be satisfied with 712,275 euros.

It is striking that some clubs from the Kitchen Champion Division also received compensation. During the World Cup, Heracles Almelo, FC Dordrecht and VVV-Venlo played on the second level in the Netherlands.

FIFA compensates the clubs because they had to miss their players for a month because of the World Cup in the winter. They received a daily amount of 9,823 euros per player, regardless of the number of minutes played at the World Cup. The total amount per player is divided over the club(s) for which he played in the two years prior to the World Cup.

When put together, the Dutch clubs received 5,939,983 euros, about 4 percent of the total. 440 clubs from 51 countries had to miss a total of 837 players for a month.
