Toyoharu Yoshida, known worldwide by his nickname Ippei Kuri, passed away on July 1, being bid farewell by his close family at a funeral held in his honor on July 10. The news was delivered by Tatsunoko Production on Wednesday, a studio where he had served as CEO and co-founded with his older brothers Tatsuo Yoshida and Kenji Yoshida.

Yoshida was born on January 1, 1940 in Kyoto and was one of the founders of Tatsunoko Production in October 1962, along with his two brothers. He being the youngest of those known as the Yoshida brothers, he held the position of CEO of the company from 1987 to 2005.
