Fabinho Transfers to Saudi Arabia: Liverpool Loses Another Midfielder

After captain Jordan Henderson (33; to Al-Ettifaq FC), Liverpool FC have, as expected, transferred another midfielder to Saudi Arabia in Fabinho. The 29-year-old Brazilian is leaving the Reds after five years and will be given a contract with the Ittihad Club until 2026. Fabinho will play alongside Karim Benzema (35) and N’Golo Kanté (32), among others.

Market value of Fabinho

The “BBC” and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had unanimously reported that the Ittihad Club is said to have submitted an offer of £40m, i.e. the equivalent of 46.7m euros, for Fabinho. The veteran had previously agreed on the framework conditions for a change with the Saudi club.

Fabinho joined Liverpool from AS Monaco in 2018 for €45m and made 219 appearances for the 2019 Champions League winner. The LFC recoups at least the amount once paid – for a professional who celebrates his 30th birthday on October 23 and was tied until 2026. Southampton’s Roméo Lavia could come into focus as a replacement. In Henderson and Fabinho, two players with experience amassed 582 Premier League appearances have left Liverpool.
