the dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) further strengthened its lead in the Formula One World Cup by winning the Hungarian Grand Prix this Sunday, the eleventh of the year, which was held at the Hungaroring, the circuit on the outskirts of Budapest; where the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished eighth and ninthrespectively.
Verstappen, 25, signed his ninth win of the season, the forty-fourth in F1, by winning ahead of the Englishman Lando Norris (McLaren) – who repeated second place in Silverstone (Great Britain) two weeks ago – and the other Red Bull, that of the Mexican Sergio Pérez, who started ninth and advanced six places to finish third. Signing his thirty-second podium in F1. With this victory for the Dutch star -who added the extra point by setting the fastest lap-, Red Bull broke the all-time record for consecutive wins in McLaren Formula One, which in 1988 won the first eleven of that year. The Austrian team scored the first eleven this season; and added the one from the last race last year, which ‘Mad Max’ also won.
The seven-time English champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), who had started from pole position, finished fourth, one position ahead of the other McLaren, that of Australian Oscar Piastri. The other Mercedes, that of Englishman George Russell, finished sixth at the Hungaroring, one place ahead of Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), who qualified ahead of his Spanish teammate and the Asturian double world champion. Canadian Lance Stroll, Alonso’s teammate at Aston Martin, finished tenth and captured the last point at stake.
