Exciting Competition Begins: The 105th National High School Baseball Championship in Iwate

The 105th National High School Baseball Championship Commemorative Iwate Tournament will begin on the 7th at Kitagin Ball Park in Nagai, Morioka City. Aiming for the Koshien ticket, 56 teams from 64 schools, including Hanamaki Higashi, who has been aiming to win the championship for three consecutive seasons since last fall, and the previous champion, Ichinoseki Gakuin, will compete.

The opening ceremony started at 10:00 am, and athletes from each school marched into the stadium. Ryu Sato (3rd year), captain of Morioka Kita, takes the athlete oath. The 105th tournament and the commemorative ceremony for the new stadium will continue, and the Morioka 4 Baton Twirling Club, Fukuoka, Morioka Hajime, and other 6 schools’ cheering squad “Bankara Union” will appear.

The opening game is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm, and Morioka City and Hanaizumi will play against each other. “Voice support”, which has been refrained from due to the influence of the new coronavirus infection, will be revived for the first time in four years. The tournament will be held at Hanamaki Stadium and two venues in Hanamaki City, and if all goes well, the final will be on the 22nd.
