Emmanuel Macron does not rule out the idea of a return to the French Grand Prix

Are we heading towards a return of the French Grand Prix to the Formula 1 calendar? In any case, it is a possibility that Emmanuel Macron does not rule out.

According to Nice Matin, the President of the Republic has agreed to entrust a mission to the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, with the aim of seeing the circuit return to the calendar. This mission was requested by the mayor of Nice himself from the Élysée, proof of Christian Estrosi’s desire to see the circuit return to Formula 1.

Not on the calendar before 2025

Christian Estrosi had relaunched the event on the French circuit Paul-Ricard du Castellet (Var). The Grand Prix de France had thus been on the calendar of the Formula 1 season between 2018 and 2022, before leaving in 2023.

If the French Grand Prix were to return to the program, it wouldn’t be before 2025. Formula 1 has already unveiled its calendar for the 2024 season, and the French Grand Prix is not on it.
