El León Secures Victory with Late Goals against Sarmiento in Federal A Tournament

Three points inside for El León.

For the 21st date of Zone 4 of the Federal A Tournament, on July 9, they defeated Sarmiento de Resistencia (Chaco) 2-1. Facundo Centurión and Román Bravo, the local goals. Franco Olego, from a penalty kick, the goal for the Chacos.

The match started with the local team trying to take possession of the ball, exploiting the left flank and worrying about that sector. Little by little, Sarmiento settled on the field of play and imposed conditions and showed why he is a shooting guard for Gymnastics and Shooting in Zone 4.

Franco Olego and Claudio Vega were unbalancing and decisive in each attack by the Chaco team that tried to hurt the goal defended by Agustín Grinovero on several occasions. Neither of them ended up being effective and they went to the locker room with the score closed.

The complement

In the second half, 9 de Julio balanced the actions, the figure of Leandro Larrea began to grow and both Braian Peralta and Agustín López sought a collective construction to reach the goal of Emilio Di Fulvio.

With the improvements in favor of León, DT Maximiliano Barbero began to introduce changes to generate more offensive weight on the rival. Wilson Ruiz Díaz entered for Agustín López.

9 de Julio was better, but when nothing was happening in the local area, from a cross Facundo Centurión lowered the ball with his hand and the referee Álvaro Carranza did not hesitate to sanction the visiting team with a penalty. Franco Olego executed strong and low, Grinovero came to touch it but the ball also entered the goal to declare it 1-0 for Sarmiento, after 24 minutes of play.

In another of the changes that Barbero implemented, Agustín Costamagna was the protagonist of a play that would end in a cross and a header from Facundo Centurión to find the equalizer for El León, just four minutes after the rival celebration.

Pushed and motivated by the goal, El León went for more to definitely win. He settled in the Chaco field and there he searched everywhere to break the visiting goal again.

There were very few minutes left and Agustín Vera was expelled for a silly discussion. The truth is that it seemed all uphill at the best moment of July 9. However, Barbero’s team had one more and Román Bravo appeared there with a great goal to put the Rafaelinos up 2-1 on the scoreboard.
