Dominican Competitors Earn Three Bronze Medals on the First Day of the 41st Military Judo World Cup

The first day of the 41st Military Judo World Cup that takes place in the country under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense, the Sports Circle of the Armed Forces and the National Police and the supervision of the International Military Sports Council, resulted in three medals of bronze for the Dominican competitors.

The Creole Estefania Soriano got the bronze medal of the 48 kilograms less, where the French Laura Espadinha took the gold, Lois Petit, Belgium, got the silver, while the Brazilian Amanda Ferreira de Lima was equal to the Dominican.

In the 57 kilograms less, the Brazilian Jessica Couto Lima won the gold medal, the Russian Nova Kakhrama won silver while the French Lou Lemire and the Dominican Ana Rosa García shared the bronze.

The third bronze achieved in the day for a Dominican was obtained in the 52 kilograms less by Coral Velázquez Paulino who shared it with María Martínez, from Chile, while Yamil Rodríguez from Lima, was the gold winner and Leonie González, from France won silver.

In other tests of the first day, the Korean Ryu Seung Hwan won the gold medal of the 66 kilograms less, the Brazilian Williams de Sousa took the silver and the Russian Ivan Petrov won bronze together with the French Joslan Florimont.

The French Gaetane Deberdt, the Russian Valentina Ostapets and the Belgian Alessia Corrao, took the gold, silver and bronze of the 63 kilograms less.

In the under-60 kilograms events, Simeonidis of Russia won gold, while Fradj Dho won silver and Kim Hwasu and Chun Seonnwoo of Korea took bronze.

The sporting event began on Monday the 24th with the arrival of the delegations from Colombia, France, Russia, and South Africa. Chile, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Korea, Brazil, Belgium, Tunisia, Italy, Iran, Peru, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Kazakhistan, Palestine and the hosts from the Dominican Republic.
