According to the US broadcaster ESPN, the contract includes a total salary of 26 million dollars, the equivalent of almost 24 million euros. Last season, the 29-year-old point guard reached the semifinals of the playoffs with the Los Angeles Lakers and was defeated by eventual title winners Denver Nuggets.
Schröder led the national team to the bronze medal at the European Championships last year and is part of the squad for the World Cups in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines. The World Cup will take place from August 25th to September 10th.
