Conor McGregor Advocates for the Death Penalty in Ireland

Sulphurous personality in the world of combat sports, Conor McGregor is not the type to back down from a potential controversy. But the recent public release of the Notorious has something to talk about since the UFC superstar has broached a very sensitive subject: the death penalty. As always, without taking gloves…

If there is one thing that will certainly never change in Conor McGregor, it is his tendency to hit hard as soon as he speaks. Sometimes even going so far as to insult his peers in the UFC, the Irishman is perhaps even more virulent when he starts to talk about social issues within his own country. Sometime ago, he had outright accused the government of corruption.

More recently, it was the conviction of a young man after raping a 10-year-old child and filming the scene that sent the former lightweight champion into a frenzy. To everyone’s surprise, the accused only received a seven-year prison sentence. A much too lenient sentence according to the native of Dublin, who released a most devastating message on social networks in response:

After his flash knockout in 10 seconds, big controversy over GregMMA (45 years old)!

Conor McGregor : It’s disgusting! A reform of our justice system and the way we punish crime is needed NOW! 7 years for that? Are you kidding me ? It’s delirious! It’s disgusting ! Life without parole is the minimum here. The death penalty is the ideal and the least costly solution for the State. Who has the power to change that?

Words as honest as they are shocking from the superstar, especially since they are in total opposition to the country’s position on the subject. It coincides with that of the European Union, of which Ireland has been a member since 1973. The only solution for CMG to win its case would therefore be an exit in the manner of the United Kingdom… and the person concerned does not would obviously be no more opposed than that.

EoghanDLyons : The death penalty is not authorized in the European Union. So the only way to reintroduce it would be for that fact to change or for Ireland to leave the EU.

Conor McGregor : ???? ,✌️, ????????

Conor McGregor does not beat around the bush, he openly campaigns for the legalization of the death penalty in Ireland, even if it means having to sever ties with the European Union. A shock statement which will not necessarily be listened to by his government, but which remains striking as the person concerned is a star in his country.
