Colombia Makes Debut in Women’s World Cup with High Hopes for Victory

Colombia makes its debut in the Women’s World Cup

Nelson Abadía’s team will have their first outing against their South Korean counterpart at 9 pm at the Allianz Stadium. The Colombians hope to win to stay with the same units of Germany that in the first match of the group thrashed Morocco 6-0.

The coach will bet on a fast team, which will not allow the opponent’s defenses to play with the dominated ball and thus be able to capitalize on mistakes with great players like Linda Caicedo, Catalina Usme and Mayra Ramírez.

Jorelyn Carabalí, despite the fact that she was absent from some of the practices, will be in the starting lineup of the Abadía team alongside Daniela Arias, who has been a regular in the XI of the tricolor.

Colombia seeks to start with victory for the first time in a World Cup debut, since in previous editions it lost in the 2011 World Cup in Germany and tied in the one held in Canada 2015. It should be noted that in the last one played in France they were not present.

Nelson Abadía will not be on the line since he will have to serve two sanction dates after the expulsion against Brazil in the final of the Copa América in which the team was runner-up in the tournament.
