Coco Gauff is in the semi-finals in Eastbourne
Maybe Coco Gauff will have a great success before the start of Wimbledon 2023: The American beat her doubles partner Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals of the WTA Tour 500 tournament in Eastbourne 6: 3 and 6: 3 . In the semifinals, Gauff again has to deal with a compatriot: Because Madison Keys did not show any weaknesses in the 6: 4 and 6: 1 against Petra Martic.
The still only 19-year-old Gauff had started the year well with the tournament victory in Auckland, but after that the convincing results were mostly missing. Last week the teenager lost in round two in Berlin to the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova. In Eastbourne, Gauff is seeded number five. And is also in the semi-finals in doubles alongside Pegula.
The number two of the tournament, Caroline Garcia, was unlucky: The Frenchwoman had to give up against Daria Kasatkina with a score of 2:6 and 1:2. Kasatkina will play against either Jelena Ostapenko or Camila Giorgi in the semifinals.
