Cleveland Browns Release Perrion Winfrey Following Aggravated Robbery Incident

BEREA — The Cleveland Browns defensive tackle released Perrion Winfrey this Wednesday after police listed him as a suspect in an aggravated robbery incident.

According to a police report, a woman said that she and her friend knew Winfrey and they had his number saved on the phone. When she saw him in a hotel lobby, she called him by her name. When she didn’t reply, she called him “sea—“. After, Winfrey he got upset and followed them out of the hotel. Noticing that she freaked out, the woman started recording with her phone. According to the report, Winfrey he then reached for her phone, saying, “I’ll beat the s— out of you,” before striking the left side of her neck. The woman also stated that, during the incident, Winfrey he lifted his shirt to reveal a pistol at his waist. After what Winfrey left with their phones, the women called the police.

Winfrey he refused to return to the scene of the incident despite being asked to do so by the police. He did leave the phones on a box in an alley for the police to pick up. Police said the phones had “good video” of the actions of Winfrey and “clear audio” of his threats, though the video does not show the gun. Police also said the woman had a “red abrasion” on her neck.
