Disappointment for Clara Burel who will not include the Lausanne Open in her honors in 2023. The Frenchwoman (84th) lost in the final against the Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto (42nd) in three sets.
Burel, however, seemed to have done the hardest part when she came back to one set everywhere, and especially when she broke in the third to break away 4-2. But she was unable to lock the match and her opponent took the opportunity to raise her level of play and not miss anything. Cocciaretto would thus win the last four games to win. The Italian, who had saved a match point in the semi-finals, confirms her good form (final in Hobart at the start of the season).
