Sergio Perez reported back to form as he arrived at Silverstone fresh and ready after ending his streak of non-podium races, and battling illness during the Austrian Grand Prix, where he finished third on Sunday.

The Mexican was close behind Red Bull teammate Max Versta-ppen in the drivers’ standings after the fifth round of the season in Miami, but missed qualifying for the next four races, and now he is 81 points behind the Dutchman.

Czech He was optimistic that his season is back on track after taking a podium finish at the Red Bull Ring with a recovery from 15th to third, despite the feverish symptoms he experienced throughout the weekend.

Asked how he was feeling during yesterday’s drivers’ press conference at Silverstone, Perez said: I’m happy to have made good progress. It was a very tough weekend, but here we are, fresh and ready.

As for what will be possible for him and Red Bull in the coming races after ending that barren streak, he added: “Well, I think it’s possible that we’ll get back to the form we had at the beginning of the season.

We only had a few bad races, we understand why and now we hope to be able to maintain this consistency in the future, basically until the end of the year, he said with conviction.

I understand that (Silverstone) should be a really good track for us. The high speed has been our strongest point, so I want us to shine a little more than other weekends, the Jalisco noted.

Verstappen, for his part, commented that he is simply enjoying the moment after taking seven of the nine wins so far in Formula 1. Hopefully we can keep up that momentum, of course. But the others are also working very hard, some teams come with updates again this weekend.
