Chaos everywhere at Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain is not calming down this summer either. New coach Luis Enrique is hoping for a quieter season. But that will be difficult enough, and very few in the French capital believe in it. The past few weeks have been too chaotic behind the scenes, be it the search for a successor to Christophe Galtier in the coaching position or the new signings. For weeks, those responsible for the club negotiated with Galtier about the amount of the severance payment after it quickly became clear that the French coach would have to leave after just one season. He was simply overwhelmed in this dressing room full of stars and egos.

Galtier, originally signed to a two-year contract, had never coached a top club like PSG before. The pressure situation was alien to him. He was not to blame for some discussions – such as that about former Dortmund player Achraf Hakimi, who was accused of rape. But not on others. In his press conferences, he repeatedly made mistakes that caused headwinds.
