The 2023 NBL (National Men’s Basketball League) kicked off on July 2, and the home and away system will resume for the new season. After three years, Changsha Wantian Yongsheng men’s basketball team (hereinafter referred to as “Changsha Yongsheng”) will return to Changsha to play at home. On July 4th, Changsha Yongsheng played the first away game against Henan Credit Store Laojiu, but unfortunately lost. On the evening of July 7, Changsha Yongsheng will appear in the Hunan Helong Gymnasium (Basketball Stadium), ushering in the first home game of the new season, against the “Northwest Wolf” Shaanxi Xinda. As the only professional team in Changsha at present, Changsha Yongsheng is looking forward to making its home debut and ushering in the first victory of the new season. It also hopes that the general public will come to the scene to cheer for the team.
Changsha Yongsheng is the only professional basketball team in Hunan Province jointly established by the Hunan Provincial Sports Bureau, Changsha Sports Bureau and enterprises. The team was established in 2016. It participated in the NBL in the year it was established and won the tenth place. Since then, Changsha Yongsheng has grown into a strong team in the NBL. It has reached the NBL National Final Four for six consecutive years (2017-2022), and won the national runner-up in the 2018 season.
After the end of the journey of the 2022 season in February this year, the team began to assemble and train in Chenzhou in April. Since then, the team has practiced in games, spanning 2,000 kilometers, traveling to Hebei, Guangdong, Qinghai, Gansu and other places, “south” conquering north “fighting”, walking non-stop. Li Xiangqun, chairman of the Changsha Yongsheng Club, introduced that the team will move towards a higher goal this year, working towards the NBL championship, and finally strive to break into the CBA (Chinese Professional Basketball League).
Changsha Yongsheng has 11 home games this season, 9 of which are located at the Helong Stadium in Hunan, and the two home games of the 18th and 19th rounds are arranged at the Chenzhou Sports Training Base Tengfei Gymnasium. The game time is basically every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, and the kick-off time of the game is 19:30.

NBL is the abbreviation of the National Men’s Basketball League, which starts every summer and is one of the three major professional leagues of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA, NBL, WCBA).
This season, the NBL has added 3 new teams, reaching the scale of 12 teams. The teams will have home and away games and a total of 22 rounds of the regular season.
This year’s NBL will span 4 months. The regular season is from July 2 to August 27. The schedule is three games a week, and the top eight enter the playoffs. From August 19th to August 20th is the NBL All-Star Weekend. At the beginning of September, the playoffs started.
