Casper Ruud was perhaps expecting a quiet afternoon here at Wimbledon. The Norwegian was up against local and 142 seeded Broady. After a fight of more than 3 hours, the finalist of the last edition of Roland-Garros lost in 5 sets. Final score: 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6.0. Like Ruud, Argentinian Etcheverry will also leave England after his elimination against Stanislas Wawrinka. Note the qualification of Hurkacz, Musetti, Zverev and Tiafoe. The American will be opposed to the Bulgarian Dimitrov for one of the shocks of these 16th finals. Three matches are still in progress. Headlining the match between Murray and Tsitsipas.
