After Zac Darko-Kelly, 25-year-old Boeheim is the second new signing for the coming season in Tübingen, as the club announced on Wednesday. Most recently, Boeheim played for CEZ Basketball Nymburk in the Czech Republic. “He was an interesting option for us last year,” said Tübingen coach Danny Jansson. “Basketball IQ and work ethic are particularly well matched. With his qualities we can use him on both wing positions.”

James is the son of Jim Boeheim, who coached at Syracuse University for 47 years and is considered one of the most successful coaches in US college history. As an assistant coach, Jim Boeheim became world champion with the USA in 2010 and won gold at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, a trio is going in Crailsheim: The contracts of Bruno Vrcic, Edon Maxhuni and Myles Stephens were not extended, as the Hohenlohe club announced on Wednesday. The American Stephens recently played all 34 games of the season, Maxhuni was used in 33 games and wore the Finnish jersey at the European Championship, Vrcic was temporarily out of action with a knee injury. Players look elsewhere for new challenges.
