Back in training after injury

In January, Fobbs had to end his MVP season at Mechelen after 20 games due to an Achilles tendon injury, but has now received full medical clearance and is back in training. “We are pleased that we were able to convince Brian of our program,” explains Baskets sporting director Savo Milovic.

Fobbs also played with Mechelen in the FIBA ​​Europe Cup, where he averaged 16.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists. His throw rates (65.8 percent twos, 42.3 percent threes and 94.1 percent free throws) even increased there. After his time at Genesee Community College (2016-2018) and Division 1 College Towson University (2018-2020), Fobbs started his professional career in Finland. In the 2021/2022 season he scored 13.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game for the Vilpas Vikings and thus played a major role in reaching the Finnish championship and cup finals.

With him, the Baskets’ professional squad currently includes six players, including three foreigners and three Germans: Till Pape (GER), Florian Koch (GER), Benedikt Turudic (GER), Noah Kirkwood (CAN), Harald Frey (NOR), Brian Fobbs (UNITED STATES).
