Atenas Welcomes Back American Center Roquez Johnson for the 2023/24 Argentine Basketball League Season

Atenas continues with the assembly of its squad for the start of the 2023/24 season of the Argentine Basketball League and this Friday announced the return of an old acquaintance of the house: the American center Roquez Johnson.

The Alabama-born player joins point guards Nicolás Zurschmitten and Lucas Reyes, forwards Manuel Alonso and José Montero, and center Lucas Arn.

The 2.01-meter, 30-year-old center is already known in Córdoba for his time in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 editions of the National League. In that period he stood out with his best production in the victory against Quilmes de Mar del Plata by 101 to 89, contributing 32 points, 11 rebounds and one assist, reaching a PIR of 41 points.

Roquez also played in other Argentine teams such as San Lorenzo, Boca, Ferro and Ciclista Juninense. He also played in the Leagues of Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.

The last participation of the American in Argentine basketball was in 2021 (Ciclista Juninense), then he went through CEB Puerto Mont de Chile (2021-22), Gigantes de Guayana, Venezuela, in 2022 and Deportivo Valdivia, Chile, in this 2023.
