Artur Szpilka ready for a great rematch. “This time in MMA”

The fans loved him because, while he took a lot of punches, he was tough and took even more. But in the end, Adam Kownacki’s (20-4) jaw was broken, “Baby Face” recently fell to the average boxer Joe Cusumano. And it was the fourth defeat in a row, because before that, the Pole had been beaten twice by Robert Helenius and once by Ali Eren Demirezen. Kownacki can forget not only about his championship dreams, but also about his return to the top.

– Adam’s resistance to blows has run out. After the fights with Helenius, I thought it was because of the weight loss, but it looks like it just ran out of health. And with the resilience, so did the incredible confidence he displayed. It was really impressive what kind of strong thrust and constant pressure he could apply. And when it’s gone, there’s not much left. Adam never had master skills, but technical deficiencies were leveled with heart for fights, character and simply the hardness of his jaw. And when his strengths lose their importance, the gaps in the defense are even more glaring – analyzed Maciej Miszkiń, a former boxer and now an expert, in our pages.

In an interview with the editor Andrzej Kostyra, Kownacki avoided unequivocal declarations about his future. It sounded like he wanted to come back. – It’s hard to say “the end” after such a nice fight – the boxer admitted between words.

Kacper Bartosiak, a boxing expert, wrote an article in which he considers what Kownacki should do. The tweet with the article was commented on by Artur Szpilka, a former boxer on whom Kownacki excelled in 2017, when he easily knocked out Szpilka.

– If anything, I’m eager for a rematch, for example in MMA. I fought Adam after a heavy KO from Wilder. I respect him very much and keep my fingers crossed that he thinks it over, but maybe in MMA he will catch joy like me. PS – Much health to Adaś – wrote Szpilka.

Szpilka is currently a KSW player. In MMA, his record is 3-0. Recently, he defeated Mariusz Pudzianowski at the National Stadium.
