Inter Miami clearly intends to surround Lionel Messi well. After previously announcing the arrival of midfielder Sergio Busquets, the club of co-owner David Beckham also announced the transfer of Jordi Alba on Thursday.
The 34-year-old left back has signed a contract for one season in Miami, with an option for an extra year.
Just like Busquets and Messi, Alba is one of the big names of FC Barcelona in the last decade. The Spaniard played over 450 games for Barça in 11 seasons and also collected 93 caps for the Spanish national team.
The arrival of Alba therefore provides an extra touch of Barcelona in Miami and there may be some more in the coming days. The club is also rumored to be angling for the services of Barça icon Andres Iniesta.
