Ana Ivanovic ended her tennis career many years ago. Just in time for the start of Wimbledon, the Serbian shared a memory with Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Munich – The 136th edition of the Wimbledon Championships will take place from July 3rd to 16th. Organized by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the tennis tournament is the oldest and most prestigious in the world. During the two weeks, the tennis world caught Wimbledon fever, as did Bastian Schweinsteiger and Ana Ivanovic.

Ana Ivanovic reminisces about Wimbledon with Schweinsteiger

The 2014 world champion may be at home in football, but his wife Ana was a world-class tennis player when she was active. Schweini also likes to play a racket in his free time and can often be found on the tennis court.

Ivanovic ended her career at the end of 2016, together with Schweinsteiger she started a family and now has three children. The 2008 French Open winner celebrated her best Wimbledon result in the 2007 semi-final. At the moment she is probably reminiscing about this time – at her side, of course, her long-term partner Schweinsteiger.

Ana Ivanovic shares Wimbledon memories with Bastian Schweinsteiger

Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger shared a Wimbledon memory on Instagram. The Serbian can be seen in two photos during a training match on green grass, Schweinsteiger is watching the game closely on the sidelines.

“The best Wimbledon fan imaginable,” writes the 35-year-old on her post, adding a laughing emoji and a tennis racket. Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic have been officially a couple since February 2015, and the wedding in Venice followed on July 12, 2016. As a result, Ivanovic appeared twice at Wimbledon with Schweinsteiger at her side, but did not get past the second round. The photos are likely to date from this period.

Fans rave about Ivanovic’s photo with Schweinsteiger at Wimbledon

In any case, their fans are enthusiastic about the Wimbledon memory. “That’s a great picture Bastian, you two are just great. I wish you all the best,” wrote one follower. “Wimby isn’t the same without you Ana,” read another response. Many are even calling for Ivanovic to make a comeback.

Her husband is not only to be found on soccer fields or tennis courts. Recently, Bastian Schweinsteiger publicly challenged Thomas Müller. (ck)
