Amorebieta takes a few more days of vacation

With the arrival of the month of July, it is common for the early risers to start their preseason, seeking to acquire the most filming for the official start of the competition scheduled for in just over a month. The Amorebieta, who lowered the curtain of the previous course twenty-two days ago, crowning himself champion of the First Federation in Ferrol, will, however, have a few more days off.

Initially, it was planned that the team that will direct another season Haritz Mujika will start with his training sessions this Wednesday. A starting signal that, however, they have decided to delay until Saturday, July 8, dedicating Thursday and Friday to carry out the mandatory medical tests on the players.

The identity of these is precisely one of the great unknowns that the Zornotzarra fans have, who yearn to know the composition of the squad that will defend the blue jacket for the second time in the club’s history in professional football. Up to now, very little has been revealed about the plans of Asier Goiria, who works with as much zeal as he cares to make the team.

The forecast made by the sports director of Amorebieta was to keep approximately half of the squad from last season for the new adventure in the Second Division. Seguín, Rayco, Edwards, Jorge Mier and Xabi Etxeita are, so far, the only players whose continuity is confirmed by contract. Although in the case of the Zornotzarra central defender, the ball is in his court to continue one more season or not in the team. The sensations suggest that it will.

After the carousel of departures announced in recent days, there are still a handful of laborers with whom Goiria and Mujika want to continue counting and whose renewals are being worked at a forced march. These are the two goalkeepers, Unai Marino and Jon Mikel Magunagoitia, the midfielders Dorrio, Sibo, Buján and Iturraspe (who broke his clavicle in Ferrol) and top scorer Eneko Jauregi.

If Urritxe’s managers manage to ensure the continuity of all of them, Amorebieta would have twelve members in its squad, which requires incorporating at least a dozen new faces for the demanding season in the Second Division. Asier Goiria has given few clues about his movements, although he has already made it clear that this time he will not limit himself to the Basque market. And for us, the first incorporation that is expected in Amorebieta, that of Félix Martí from Betis. A U19 central defender with great projection who will arrive on loan once his participation in the European Championship of the category in Malta ends.
