For their dedication and commitment to associative sport, this Friday (7th) AMAERJ honored Justice Marco Aurélio Bellizze, of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), and judges Mauro Martins, counselor of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) , Marcus Henrique Basílio, Inspector General of Justice, and Sérgio Ricardo de Arruda Fernandes. The president of AMAERJ, judge Eunice Haddad, participated in the meeting at the Estádio Presidente Manoel Schwartz, headquarters of the Fluminense Football Club, in Laranjeiras (South Zone of Rio).
President Eunice Haddad praised the athletes from the AMAERJ team and highlighted the relevance of the activity. “Sport is very important for associations and for life,” she said. She pointed out that the judges honored “are people who promoted football at AMAERJ”.
The director of Sports at AMAERJ, judge Ricardo Starling, emphasized that the honorees contributed a lot to the integration of colleagues and the sporting achievements of the institution.
Fluminense fans, the four magistrates were fundamental for the development of the sport of the Association, the biggest champion of the soccer competitions of the Associação dos Magistrados Brasileiros (AMB). Minister Marco Aurélio Bellizze and Corregidor Marcus Basílio, teammates in the AMB national championship in 1996, stood out in winning the first AMAERJ title.
Judge Sérgio Ricardo de Arruda Fernandes was national champion for the Associação team in the free, master and senior categories. The CNJ counselor, Judge Mauro Martins, was instrumental in integrating and strengthening football and for the countless demonstrations of dedication and commitment to associative sport.
Minister Marco Aurélio Bellizze praised AMAERJ’s support for the integration of the soccer team. “It is a joy to be here. Those who honor football deserve much more than those who play football. Thanks to Eunice, who since she joined [na presidência], took over football. If we are going to pay another tribute to football, the next one has to be Eunice, who was our best player that we had in recent years, who believed in us”.
Multi-champion for the AMAERJ selection, the judge Sérgio Ricardo de Arruda Fernandes thanked the support of the president of the Association to the football team. “We win there too for you”.
In his speech, counselor Mauro Martins praised the unity of the AMAERJ team. “This group is an example for the entire Judiciary. It’s strong and cohesive. I am very happy to be part of this group”, he said.
AMAERJ’s historic goalkeeper, Chief Justice Marcus Basílio pointed out that “sport has always brought people together”. “It is very important for this group to be maintained. Us [Marcus Basílio e Marco Aurélio Bellizze] we are moving away from the field, we continue to be heard always, participating from outside, but it is very satisfying to know that this group continues.”
