Ajax Women sees keeper and international Lize Kop leave after many prizes | Football

Ajax Women must look for a new keeper. Orange international Lize Kop has decided to exchange the national champion for a new challenge after successful years.

Kop has been part of the Ajax selection since the 2016/2017 season. The keeper gradually grew into a basic player, although she had to miss quite a few matches in recent years due to injuries.

The honors list of the 25-year-old Kop includes three national titles, four KNVB cups and one Eredivisie Cup. The KNVB Cup won in 2014 is the only prize of Ajax Women where Kop was not part of the selection.

In her time at Ajax, Kop grew into an international of Orange. She made her debut in 2019 and has seven international matches to her name. She is part of the selection that is now preparing for the World Cup in New Zealand. She normally has to tolerate Daphne van Domselaar at the World Cup.

Kop says he is leaving Ajax “with pain in his heart”. “I think I’m ready for a new step. Getting new incentives, new challenges, I’m really looking forward to that.” It is not yet clear where she will continue her career.
