The Alliance for the Republic (Apr) reacted to remarks deemed inappropriate by the chairman of the parliamentary group of the coalition Yewwi Askan Wi (Yaw) Birame Souleye Diop towards President Macky Sall.
“It is with great consternation and sadness that we learned of the remarks of Birame Souleye Diop, number 2 of Pastef, also President of the parliamentary group Yewwi Askan Wi. Such crude and abject statements attempt to undermine the honor of Presidents Macky Sall and Alassane Ouattara, but also the relations of brotherhood, friendship and mutual respect between our peoples, our States and our institutions. » denounced the Apr.

According to Macky Sall’s party, ” They shocked everyone but surprised no one, so accustomed is the political party Pastef, its leader Ousmane Sonko and all his associates to insults, insanity and vulgarity. Ia violence in word and in action have become their markers.
In the same vein, the allies of President Macky Sall add that, ” The emotion and shock felt by all are limitless; after our social, political and religious institutions, the party of Ousmane Sonko, through this disastrous declaration of its number two and President of the parliamentary group, attacks a Head of State of a brother country, neighbor and friend , linked to Senegal by centuries-old relations, Côte d’Ivoire, a land of welcome for thousands of Senegalese.
