A matter of form: SPD member of the Bundestag Michael Schrodi is a fan of TSV 1860 Munich – Sport

Michael Schrodi, 46, has been a member of the Bundestag for Dachau-Fürstenfeldbruck since 2017. He recently gained notoriety because he was loudly upset about a pact between the CDU/CSU and the AfD.

Sport is…?

In addition to politics, an essential part of my life.

Your current fitness level?

Unfortunately, I tore my Achilles tendon a few years ago, which set me back. But that’s enough for the FC Bundestag.

Rim upswing or stopover?

Refreshments in Giesing at Schau ma moi, RiffRaff or Grünspitz.

Physical education class was for you?

Two hours of bliss at school – except in gym classes.

Your personal record?

80 goals in one season in D youth.

Stadium visitors or TV athletes?

Standing hall in the Sechzgerstadion!

Bavaria or sixty?

There are only two teams in Munich: 1860 and 1860 II. Ok, and Wacker Munich. Otherwise I don’t know of any relevant club.

Your eternal sports idol?

Thomas Miller. With 1860 from Bayern to the Bundesliga and with the fastest yellow card I’ve ever seen: blood tackles against Rot-Weiss Essen after a good three seconds.

A formative experience?

My game with FC Ismaning in the first DFB Cup main round in 2000 against Borussia Dortmund with coach Mathias Sammer and the players Jens Lehmann, Lars Ricken, Jürgen Kohler and Dede.

In which discipline would you be an Olympic champion?

Merz and Dobrindt read the riot act in the Bundestag when they make deals with the AfD.

Which athlete would you like to swap jerseys with?

Eric Cantona: Brilliant soccer player and always anti-fascist!

Under the heading “Formality” the SZ asks people about their affinity for sport every week. Artists, politicians, captains of industry – just no athletes. It would be boring.
