105th National High School Baseball Championship Tochigi Tournament Begins with Captain’s Oath

Irie, the captain of Bunsei University, who won the player’s oath, in Utsunomiya.

The 105th National High School Baseball Championship Tochigi Tournament will start on the 7th. The opening ceremony will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Prefectural Sports Park Baseball Stadium (Utsunomiya City). Fifty-nine teams from 61 schools, including two federated teams, will participate in this tournament.

In the opening match, Hokuryo Moka and Kou Moka played against each other. The final is scheduled for the 25th. The eight seed schools are Sakushin Gakuin, Bunsei University, Ishibashi, Seiran Taito, Utsunomiya Sho, Sano Nihon University, Oyama, and Motegi. Two teams, Mibu/Sano Higashi and Utsunomiya Chuo/Nasu, will participate as an allied team.

At a lottery held last month at the Prefectural General Education Center in Utsunomiya City, 45 schools that wished to take the oath were selected by lottery, and captain Haru Irie (3rd year) of Bunsei University was selected.
