Weißhaidinger only beaten by Stahl in Sweden

Discus thrower Lukas Weißhaidinger only had to bow to Swedish local hero Daniel Stahl at the first international meeting of the new outdoor season in Sollentuna. Olympic champion Stahl jumped 70.93 meters, Weißhaidinger was just ahead of Jamaica’s Fedrick Dacres (65.87) with 65.95.

“My third throw was technically very good. It was a home game for Daniel in Sollentuna, he had a strong series with three throws over 68 m and threw a personal best. He deserved to win,” said Weißhaidinger.

On Tuesday, the discus elite will meet in Turku (Finland), where the Upper Austrian would like to gradually increase his technique and distance.
