The athletes of the University of Turin win 26 medals at the National University Championships which took place in Camerino from 17 to 25 June: 12 golds, 4 silvers and 10 bronzes

The 76th edition of Spring National University Championships, hosted from 17 to 25 June by the Marche city of Camerino, gave exceptional results to the delegation of the University of Turin. From athletics to rugby, through football and combat sports (judo, wrestling, fencing), the success of UniTo athletes is transversal: they win well 26 medalsthus contributing substantially to the triumph of Turin University team of the CUS Turin, who takes home a total of 32 and conquers the first place in the medal table.

12 gold medals: in athletics Sara Verteramo (SUISM) won in shot put and Gioele Buzzanca (SUISM) in discus throwing; Lisa Galvagni (Mathematics) wins in the women’s 60 kg category, Francesco Gorgone (SUISM) in the freestyle cat. 120 kg and Giuseppe Christian Caniglia (SUISM) in Greco-Roman wrestling cat. 70kg; in judo awarded Francesco Cargnelutti (International Sciences of Development and Cooperation) cat. – 66 kg, Erica Simonetti (SUISM) cat. + 78 kg, Ludovica Franzosi (SUISM) cat. – 70 kg and Michela Fiorini (SUISM) cat. – 48kg; in Karate, gold to Federica Schicchi (Chemistry), cat. – 50kg.

Finally, gold in the men’s tennis doubles went to Andrea Cardella (SUISM), awarded with his partner Andrea Cherchi (Management Engineering – Turin Polytechnic).
