UnipolSai Fortitudo Baseball Dominates Game 1 Against Senago, Winning 18-0

In the evening when the Italian baseball celebrate the reopening of the “Casadio” stadium with Godo which, after the dramatic floods of a month ago, returns to host a baseball match (which unfortunately Macerata wins 2-0 for the hosts), l‘UnipolSai Fortitudo baseball dominates Game 1 against Senago, winning 18-0 the first of the three challenges that will all be played in Lombardy. With this victory, Fortitudo keeps the lead in Group G on an equal footing with Parma, with 7 wins and 3 defeats.

Race 1 – Senago-Fortitudo 0-18

The first match of the series between Senago and Fortitudo was without history, with the guests constantly moving the score from the second inning onwards, making it impossible for the hosts to stay in the game, and at the end of the upper part of the quarter, the match seems to have already been marked heavily with Manager Frignani’s men ahead 11-0, and in the end they win 18-0.

The pair on the mound consisting of Raul Rivero and Marc Civit allows 2 hits (one each) over the seven innings (five thrown by the Venezuelan and two by the Italian-Spanish) e not even a base for balls. An almost impeccable defense is accompanied by a decidedly good evening by the attack which almost systematically sees the launches of the Senago pitchers, putting the 20 valid and, as mentioned, 18 points.

In the first inning Senago concedes 3 walks, but manages to close the fraction at 0-0 with Fortitudo leaving two men on base. The second inning opens immediately with a double by Dobboletta, who is then pushed home by the following hit by Monti: it is the point of 1-0 but above all it is the opening of the dance by the UnipoSai attack, which does not will stop anymore until the end of the match, also scoring a big inning, the fourth, with seven runs.

They especially signaled themselves Daniel Monti (4 for 4, a base ball and 5 RBI), Lorenzo Dobboletta (3 of 3, 1 double) e Eugene Clear (3 for 5, 1 base ball and 5 RBI), but with 20 hits out of 40 innings as a team, there is no doubt that it was practically the entire blue and white attack that was at its best, with none of the ten players who showed up at the batter’s box remained without at least one hit. An undoubtedly relevant performance which, although Senago is last in Group G, is a great show of strength by the Bolognese line-up.

Today Race 2 and Race 3, with Fortitudo and Parma having the chance to slightly extend on San Marino, which is resting this week, in case of a sweep.
