Tricolor Umbertide, the PFU under 20 wins the Italian women’s basketball cup

UDINE – From Umbria to the roof of Italy. It was a real triumph for the Umbertide women’s basketball under 20 team, fresh winners of the Italian Cup in their category.

The girls coached by coach Michele Staccini (assisted by Michela Caporali and Filippo Venturelli), first passed the qualifying phase easily by beating Pegli 61-39 in the first match. Even the second match saw the blue-and-whites take the pass for the final without difficulty, with the victory over Montecchio Maggiore 53-35.

The final saw the Umbrian team challenge the landlord from Udine. At the end of a very tight match that ended with a thrilling score of 52-51, Umbertide managed to lift the trophy to the sky.

Another great satisfaction for the PFU under 20, who puts his second prestigious season award on his bulletin board. In addition to winning the Italian Cup, the Umbertide team managed to achieve promotion to Serie B by winning the Serie C championship. Good hopes are growing in the best way imaginable.
