The ninth of a total of 22 races is scheduled in Austria. Verstappen invariably drives for many Dutch fans on the Alpine circuit, but was unable to win the last edition. Last year Charles Leclerc was too strong in the Ferrari, which was the last victory for the team and therefore also for the Monegask himself.
Verstappen took the hundredth victory for Red Bull Racing in Montreal and equaled racing legend Ayrton Senna with 41 victories. The 25-year-old Dutchman is leading the World Cup standings with 195 points. He is followed on 126 points by his teammate Sergio Pérez.
After the race in Austria, the drivers travel to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. That race near the home base of Red Bull Racing will be held on July 9.
