It is being eagerly planned in Borussia Park. And the course is set. It’s about Daniel Farke’s successor, with Gerardo Seoane, who was last employed at Bayer Leverkusen, still the top favorite for the post as head coach. It’s about Nils Schmadtke, who will strengthen the sporting management level at the five-time German champion in the future. It’s about squad planning. And without a new head coach, it’s already about the key data for preparation for next season.

The team and Farke’s successor will start on July 7th. The obligatory medical checks await the pros over a total of two days. On July 9th the ball rolls for the first time, the new head coach asks for the first real team training on the field.

Test matches from July 15th – training camp as always at Tegernsee

The first test match is scheduled for July 15th. Borussia take on FC Wegberg-Beeck (kick-off 4 p.m.). A week later, on July 22nd, the Fohlenelf travels to Saarland and tests at 1. FC Saarbrücken (time open).

The training camp at Tegernsee begins just one day later. As usual from the past, Borussia will be guests at the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt in Rottach-Egern. As part of the one-week stay (July 23rd to July 30th), two more friendlies are being planned, the exact dates and opponents will be announced later.

Finally, on August 5th and 6th, the big season opening weekend will take place in Borussia Park with a supporting program and a family party. Another friendly is planned for this weekend before things get serious a week later with the first round of the DFB Cup (August 11th to 14th). The Bundesliga season 2023/24 will start on August 18th.
