The Next NBA Trade Earthquake: James Harden Wants Out of the 76ers

Next trade quake in the NBA?

Historical title! A city in a state of emergency

In the best basketball league in the world, the next trade earthquake is on the horizon. The focus here: Sixers superstar James Harden.

The NBA is threatened with the next trade earthquake.

According to ESPN, superstar James Harden has exercised his option for the upcoming season with the Philadelphia 76ers. “The Beard” is entitled to a fully guaranteed $35.6 million. But: Harden probably doesn’t want to stay in Philly and instead is looking for a trade partner together with the franchise.

Accordingly, Harden is said to have been “extremely upset” at how those responsible dealt with his situation. He is said to have felt that the Sixers wanted to “force” him to test the open market before making him another offer.

Harden wants to leave the 76ers

The 33-year-old only signed a two-year contract last year, so he cannot sign an early extension at the moment. So Harden and the Sixers need a team that takes on the guard for one season, and then he becomes a free agent in 2024.

According to ESPN, the Los Angeles Clippers and the New York Knicks are potential buyers, while The Athletic also brings the Miami Heat into play.

The matter should not be easy, however, as the 76ers want to get “real value” for their superstar.

Always worried about injuries

Harden was traded to Philadelphia from the Brooklyn Nets in 2022, but he only appeared in 58 games for the team overall – largely because he was struggling with injuries.

In the previous playoffs, Philly lost in the second round to the Boston Celtics.
