Toulon formalized Monday morning the name of the lucky winner in the person of Andrea Masi. The former Italian international (95 caps) had left the staff of Wasps (England) in 2021 to join that of Treviso, in order to take care of three-quarters. The latter was released by his club.
A multilingual technician
The 42-year-old technician has the particular advantage of speaking French since his stints in Biarritz (2006-2009) and Racing (2009-2011). This season, his team from Treviso also faced the RCT with a heavy defeat (23-0) in the semi-finals of the Challenge on the lawn of Mayol on April 30th.
Masi has signed a two-year contract with Toulon. “He is a young coach that I have been following for several years, explained manager Pierre Mignoni in the club’s official press release. He has greatly improved the Benetton Treviso team since his arrival, especially in their attacking animation.
