The HM La Reina Trophy fleet is ready to shine in the Mediterranean

The countdown for the coastal regattas of the XXIV SM La Reina Trophy – Tribute to the Navy Regatta – XXXV Almirante Marcial Sánchez-Barcaíztegui Cup has ended. This Friday the fleet will enter the fray for the inshore regattas with the classes MSC ORC 0-1, Mercedes-Benz Valdisa ORC 2, Varadero Valencia ORC 3, ORC 4, Royal Bliss J80 —which is also a date for the Spanish Cup—, ORC Open and Class UPV Promotion. The emblematic event organized by the Royal Nautical Club of Valencia ensures high-level competition in the water and great activity on land until Sunday, July 2.

The organization schedules a maximum of seven tests for the ORC 0-1, 2, 3 and 4 classes, while the J80 Class will carry out a maximum of nine tests and the ORC Open and Promotion classes a maximum of 3 tests. The regatta will be valid when one test has been completed, while the J80 Spanish Cup will be valid when two tests have been completed.

Units with sails from Turkey, France, Germany, Finland, Uruguay, Sweden and, to a greater extent, from Spain will enter the fray in the different classes, either in the long regatta, with a start scheduled for June 23, or in the coastal ones, with development between June 30 and July 2. About 1,200 participants are expected.

The prologue to this big weekend of cruising sailing in the Mediterranean was the celebration, last Friday and Saturday, of an ORC Offshore A Two test, with the participation of fifteen units, winning the Fandango 300 offshore regatta. The long regatta is a common denominator of the respective programs of the SM La Reina Trophy, as well as the Conde de Godó Sailing Trophy (Real Club Náutico de Barcelona) and the nautical event already held in Palmavela (Real Club Náutico de Palma).
