The first edition of the Club World Cup expanded to 32 teams scheduled for 2025 has been awarded to the United States, the International Football Federation (Fifa) announced on Friday.
«The host nation selection process considered infrastructure and service requirements, as well as the tournament’s broader strategic objectives“, detailed Fifa in a press release published after the meeting of its Council held by videoconference. The United States will organize the following year, with Canada and Mexico, the first World Cup with 48 countries – instead of 32.
