The Eqwin app officially launched on Friday: “We took over the codes of the younger generations”

The name of Eqwin has been agitating the equestrian world for several months. This application, officially launched this Friday, will allow its users to put themselves in the shoes of an owner, by buying virtual representations, called memorabilia, of real horses whose sporting value will evolve according to real results in race. “It’s a lot of excitement,” says Nina Caput, spokesperson and co-founder of the start-up. We are coming to the end of the testing phase. There were 3,500 beta testers and more than 12,500 people registered on the waiting list. »

Behind this successful project are three women. Nina Caput, Anaïs Izaac and Charley Lauffer. “We were inspired by universes that exist in other sports such as Mon Petit Gazon, admits the first named. We took up the codes of the younger generations to adapt them to the world of racing. »

To register on the program, all you have to do is download the application, validate your identity, then create your team, with a name and colors of coat, as in reality. “Then, users will be able to start transactions,” confirms the 28-year-old. They will need to top up their balance. Then, it will be possible for them to make purchase offers or to sell. The number of units on the same competitor may vary according to demand. The process seems as simple as on a merchant site and payments are managed and secured via MangoPay, also used on Vinted.

Visual of the application

On this commercial subject, the start-up is very clear. “It’s not an investment platform,” warns our interlocutor, experienced in digital and tech. Prohibited to those under 18, the application has ensured the legal framework with the competent authorities. “We have partnerships with the parent companies, France Galop and Le Trot, insists the former professional rider who worked alongside Philippe Rozier. Our approach is also intended to be participatory with the sector, since part of the turnover is donated to it. »

The enthusiasm around the platform is palpable with many professionals, some of whom even have the status of ambassadors. “Changes are obviously to be expected, slips Nina Caput, while insisting on the social aspect of the project. For those who know the sector, it is an additional experience between the bet and the fact of being an owner. Neophytes, on the other hand, will experience new emotions thanks to this gateway to the races. »
