On June 17, 2023, this year’s ranking tournament for youth U15, U18 and U21 was organized by the Bavarian Judo Association (BJV) in the district of Upper Bavaria. The organizer of the tournament was TSV Palling.

The text of the message:

Bad Aibling – The tournament serves, among other things, as a qualifying competition for subsequent squad tournaments. The young people from all over Upper Bavaria and the neighboring districts were able to compete on a total of three mat areas.

A total of seven fighters were also at the start for TuS Bad Aibling.

Denis Weisser, department head of the judo department of TuS Bad Aibling and at the same time district chairman of Upper Bavaria, took the tournament as an opportunity to honor some deserving officials of the Bavarian Judo Association (we reported).

Afterwards, Weisser insisted on seeing his “Aiblinger protégés” in action and convincing himself of the skills of the fighters from his home club.

For the twin sisters Fiona and Louisa Nowak, Raphael Neustätter and Adrian Graupner, the tournament meant getting a taste of “U15 air” for the first time. Due to their age, they are currently fighting in an age group lower, in the U13. The four have recently become members of the Oberbayern squad.

In addition to the four 11-year-olds, Maximilian Osterloher, also a member of the squad in Upper Bavaria, and Ana-Maria Afrasinei, competed in the U15 age group.

In addition, the Aiblinger judo department in the U18 age group was strongly represented by Stefan Holzmaier (also a squad fighter).

Holzmaier is also fighting in the U18 age group for the first time this year.

Despite the fact that the young TuS athletes had to deal with mostly older, more experienced and heavier opponents, everyone was able to keep up well and delivered a very good performance.

In the end, Raphael Neustätter took first place, Fiona Nowak and Stefan Holzmaier took second place, Louisa Nowak and Ana-Maria Afrasinei took third place, and Adrian Graupner came fifth.

“An excellent result for the young up-and-coming fighters of Tus Bad Aibling,” as confirmed by team manager Thomas Nowak.
