Latvian basketball player Digna Strautmane will join the club “Sleza” of the strongest Polish league in Wroclaw, the team announced on Thursday.

The 24-year-old basketball player started last season in the Greek team “Olympiakos” of Piraeus, but already in early November, she suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee in a FIBA Euroleague match. Before the European Championship, Strautmane was included in the list of candidates for the Latvian national team, however, she was unable to recover in time and was not included in the team.

Strautman spent the previous five years in the National Collegiate Sports Association (NCAA), but last summer he played in Australia’s second power league and together with the Ringwood “Hawks” team became the vice-champions of this championship.

Strautmane, a forward in the Latvian women’s national team, scored an average of 3.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 14 minutes in 27 matches. As part of the national team, Strautmane played in the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 European Championship.
