“Sportez-vous bien is a quarterly meeting, co-supported by the Cap’Sport association and Advocacy Caen, at intended for people with disabilities welcomed or accompanied by structures » , informs Marion Bissey, event coordinator for Cap’Sport. The meeting has already taken place in various municipalities of Caen-la-Mer.
On Tuesday June 20, 2023, it took place, for the first time, in Mondeville (Calvados), at the Pierre-Bérégovoy hall. 94 participants, coming from 12 different structures, experienced “an afternoon of physical activities and cohesion, around eight activities, details Marion Bissey. At each session, we change the activities so that they can discover everything. »
The city of Mondeville gave participants the opportunity to practice “kin-ball, archery, table tennis, badminton, walking, gentle gymnastics” but also to meet around “cooperation games and food workshops” . It’s about “bigger gatherings, thanks to the facilities that can accommodate a large number of people” .

“It’s fun, entertaining. It makes it possible to do sport adapted to all types of handicap and to meet people,” enthuses Jeanne, a participant. “We have good weather. The facilitators are very nice. The environment is pretty. Hoping it continues next year” , completes Eric Jondot, his comrade, returning from the activity walk in the wood of Biez.
Important values stand out “to advocate living well together, to create a mix during the days, to value the inclusion and participation of accompanying persons, to offer a reassuring and adapted framework of practice. Its days aim to raise awareness among the public with mental disabilities about physical and sports practice, to create links and social inclusion. Marion Bissey report.
“We take the people we support. The objectives are to mix with other medico-social structures, to discover sports activities, to get out of the structure and to promote outward-looking activities.
