Sparta Announces New General Manager to Take Over on July 1st

There will be one personnel change in a few days in Sparta. The reigning Czech champion will change the general manager, František Čupra will be replaced by Tomáš Křivda.

The changing of the guards is scheduled for July 1st, and Křivda is not going into an unfamiliar environment, as he was responsible for managing the commercial section in Sparta. Čupr will also continue at the club, as executive vice-chairman of the board.

“I greatly appreciate the trust of Daniel Křetínský and František Čupr. I would like to thank them for giving me such an opportunity. My vision is to build on the work of František and, together with my colleagues, continue to develop the club that I have been a fan of since childhood,” says incoming CEO Tomáš Křivda. “I feel it as an obligation and responsibility towards the club as such, the fans, business partners and very significantly towards colleagues. In Sparta, it is about teamwork and a functioning collective in which one can rely on the other, which is essential for us they continued in the right direction.”

Since the end of 2020, Křivda has held the position of director of the commercial department and member of the board of directors. In the past he was the marketing director, he started at the club as part of a student internship as early as 2005. As general manager, he will be in charge of managing the club on a daily basis, and will continue to lead the commercial department (sponsoring, marketing, club premises, security and others). Jakub Urbaník, financial director and member of the board of directors, will continue to participate in Sparta’s management in day-to-day operations and in the economic management of the club.
