Sebastian Ofner moves safely into the semi-finals at the Challenger in Ilkley.
In his first encounter against the American Denis Kudla, Sebastian Ofner was wide awake from the start. With strong serves, the Styrian didn’t allow his opponent a break chance in the first set and was able to use his two opportunities consistently.
Also in the second act, Kudla remained without a chance when the Austrian No. 1 served. Once again, the Austrian No. 1 was able to secure the service of No. 189 in the ATP ranking twice and won 6: 2, 6: 2 after 57 minutes.
In the semifinals, the number 81 in the world meets Zsombor Piros from Hungary, who defeated Charles Broom from Britain 6:7, 6:3, 7:6. The winner of the tournament will also be rewarded with a main draw wild card for the Wimbledon tournament. So far, Ofner has opted for the qualification for the lawn major.
