Naturalized player Sandy Walsh happy after practicing together Indonesian National team in Surabaya ahead of the FIFA matchday against Palestine.
Sandy Walsh admitted that he was happy to be able to visit the city of Surabaya, which is his grandfather’s hometown.
“I’m happy to be here, especially since Surabaya is my grandfather’s hometown. I also want to thank the chairman for my debut in Surabaya,” Sandy Walsh said as quoted by Antara, Monday (5/6) evening.
Indonesian national team players have started training at Thor Field, Surabaya, in preparation for the FIFA matchday against Palestine on June 14.
Walsh said the two upcoming FIFA matchday agendas were very important because he had long dreamed of the opportunity to play for the Red and White team.
“I am very happy to attend the training camp before two very important matches, this is a valuable opportunity, every day I will train hard,” said the player who was born in March 1995.
However, Sandy Walsh was still given a portion of light training to restore his condition after a long journey.
“I’ve been on the road for 21 hours, and I’m currently doing some light work, short passes, light games, and a few runs to get ready for the next practice,” he says.
Sandy hopes that his first debut with the Indonesian national team can present a satisfying match for Indonesian football fans.
“I will try to present a good match for fans and all Indonesian supporters,” he said.
Apart from facing Palestine, Sandy Walsh also has the opportunity to appear in the Indonesia vs Argentina match at the Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, June 19.
