Ruvo di Puglia to Host 2nd Edition of “Metropolitan Olympics”

Ruvo di Puglia will also be the protagonist of the 2nd edition of the “Metropolitan Olympics”, the initiative promoted and organized by the Metropolitan City of Bari under the patronage of CONI Puglia, Sport and Health, FijlKam (Italian Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts Federation), FITA (Italian Taekwondo Federation) FGI (Italian Gymnastics Federation) and FISR (Italian Roller Sports Federation).

Thanks to the commitment of the Department of Sport of the Municipality, Ruvo will host two provincial events: the swimming competitions (Saturday 24 in the Municipal Swimming Pool with the participation of SSD Adriatika Nuoto) and the Dance Sport competition (Thursday 29 in the Palazzetto di Viale Colombo, starring the Asd Ruvesi Revolution dance, Hollywood Dance Nino & Simona, Tempio Danza and Roller Rainbow Ruvo).

The boys of ASD Green Basket will instead participate in the basketball tournament scheduled for the afternoon of Monday 26th in Altamura.

The objective of the “Metropolitan Olympics”, this year in its second edition, is to promote sporting and recreational activities and promote values ​​such as inclusion, belonging to the territory, health, psychophysical well-being and aggregation.

Over two thousand athletes born between 2010 and 2012 will participate in the event, representing 135 associations from 26 metropolitan municipalities.

Tournaments of soccer 5, basketball f/m, soccer 9, volleyball f/m, tennis, judo, karate, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, athletics, taekwondo, baseball, triathlon, swimming, weight training, archery are scheduled , skating and sport dance. Among this year’s novelties is a day entirely dedicated to inclusion with sporting performances by disabled athletes in the bowling, bowling and basketball disciplines.
