Iga Swiatek is the new queen of Roland Garros, after beating Karolina Muchova in three sets with the score 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. At just 22 years old, the Pole thus wins the Parisian slam for the third time, after the successes of 2020 and 2022, and joins Serena Williams as the youngest tennis player ever to conquer four successes in the slams.

The match
The script is clear from the first set, when Swiatek, number one in the world, takes advantage of the emotion of his opponent, number 43, and manages to place the break in the second game.
The Czech, in the first final in a slam of her career, can’t shake herself and so she gives up again losing the first set 6-2.
The beginning of the second seems to confirm an already written epilogue: Swiatek immediately flies up to 3-0, but suffers the reaction of Muchova who places the counterbreak and comes back up to win the partial 7-5, thus becoming the first to manage to snatch a Polish set in the tournament.
Swiatek survives to lift the trophy for a third time in Paris.

However, the Czech can do nothing against the angry return of Swiatek, who immediately raises the pace of the match by bringing home the third set 6-4 and conquering, complete with tears of emotion, her third Roland Garros.
