Nosková, the winner of the junior tournament the year before last, did not record a single break in the match and lost the duel in one hour and 28 minutes. Her defeater, the world number four and champion from last year’s Wimbledon, who knocked out another Czech teenager Brenda Fruhvirtová a round earlier in Paris, will meet the Spaniard Sara Sorribesová in the next round.

Nosková, a native of Vsetín, reached the 2nd round of the Grand Slam for the first time in her career. Against Rybakinová, however, she did not use any of the four break points and, on the contrary, lost serve three times. The native of Moscow, representing Kazakhstan, helped herself to five aces and played 30 winning balls. Nosková made six double faults.

The Czech tennis player lost her serve for the first time in the third game of the opening set and did not hold her serve until the end, when she was not even helped by five deflected set points. Nosková could dramatize the duel in the second set, when she had three break points at 3:3. But she didn’t use any and immediately lost her serve. Rybakinová then closed the duel with the fourth used match point.

On court number 7, Lehečka, who defeated the German Struff 3:2 in sets in the first round, will face the American Marcos Giron. Their duel will take place third in the order.

Out of 14 Czech tennis players, only Karolína Muchová advanced to the 3rd round of singles.
